What it does.

Grants.gov carries the opportunities that federal grant-making agencies publish: about 1 500 posted and forecasted at any time, and more than 80 000 in total. The tool searches the Grants.gov API and then reads the full record of each hit, so award amounts, eligibility and the description come in the same row.

Filter by keywords, agency, funding category, eligible applicant type, funding instrument, Assistance Listing number, status and posted date; closed and archived opportunities can be included. The names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses of grants officers are not read. A run with empty input returns the 50 newest posted and forecasted opportunities, and the sample below is such a run on 8 October 2026.

Paste it into the JSON tab of the actor in Apify Console, or send it to the Apify API.

  ],
  "onlyNew": false,
  "maxResults": 50

What a run costs

A run with the default input returns at most 50 opportunities, so it costs at most 0.40 USD. The run on 8 October 2026 shown above returned 50 opportunities in about 14 seconds, which is 0.40 USD. maxResults caps every run, and platform usage is included in the price.

Run it on a schedule.

  1. Ask for new rows only

    Set onlyNew to true. The actor remembers what it has already delivered for the same input, in a named key-value store in your own Apify account (nightwave-state-grants-gov-opportunities).
  2. Add a schedule

    Add the actor to a schedule in Apify Console, for example with the cron expression 0 7 * * * for 07:00 every day.
  3. Get what is new

    The first run returns everything in the selection. After that, each run returns and charges only what is new. A run with nothing new finishes with 0 rows and costs nothing.

Source and license.

The data comes from the Grants.gov API, run by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: search2 for the search and fetchOpportunity for the details of each opportunity. No API key is needed. The tool sends at most 4 requests per second and removes e-mail addresses and links from the description. This product uses the Grants.gov API but is not endorsed or certified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The Grants.gov API terms let you search, display, analyze and retrieve the data, as long as the notice "This product uses the Grants.gov API but is not endorsed or certified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services." is displayed prominently and the content is not modified or misrepresented. Every row carries that notice in license, so you can keep it when you publish the data.
