What it does.

CanadaBuys publishes the federal government's tender and award notices as open data files that are updated once a day, and AusTender publishes Australian Government contract notices through an open OCDS API. This tool reads both and returns the notices newest first in one dataset with the same fields. Australia is covered with contract notices of 10 000 AUD or more, which are awards: open tenders on tenders.gov.au are only shown as web pages, and there is no open dataset with a licence for reuse.

Filter by country, keywords, UNSPSC or GSIN codes, stage, minimum value and publication date, at most 31 days per run. A run with empty input returns the 50 newest notices from both countries in the last seven days. The sample below is open Canadian tenders from the first run of a daily alert on 4 October 2026, which returned 128 notices.

What people use it for.

  • Tender alert

    A daily run for your UNSPSC codes or keywords with onlyNew set to true returns only Canadian tenders not delivered before. Connect an Apify integration to send them to Slack or e-mail.
  • Who buys what

    See which departments in Canada and Australia buy software, cleaning, construction or consulting, and for how much.
  • Competitor tracking

    Award and contract notices name the winning supplier when it is clearly an organisation, with the value and a link.
  • Bid pipeline

    Feed a bid management tool or a CRM with the structured fields and the notice link.

Input example.

Paste it into the JSON tab of the actor in Apify Console, or send it to the Apify API.

  "maxResults": 200
}

What a run costs

A run with the default input returns at most 50 notices, so it costs at most 0.20 USD. The run on 4 October 2026 shown above returned 128 open Canadian tenders in about 2 seconds; at the current price that is 0.51 USD. maxResults caps every run, notices skipped by onlyNew are not charged, and platform usage is included in the price.

Run it on a schedule.

  1. Ask for new rows only

    Set onlyNew to true. The actor remembers what it has already delivered for the same input, in a named key-value store in your own Apify account (nightwave-state-canada-australia-tenders).
  2. Add a schedule

    Add the actor to a schedule in Apify Console, for example with the cron expression 0 7 * * * for 07:00 every day.
  3. Get what is new

    The first run returns everything in the selection. After that, each run returns and charges only what is new. A run with nothing new finishes with 0 rows and costs nothing.

Source and license.

The Canadian data comes from the CanadaBuys open data files that Public Services and Procurement Canada publishes on the Open Government Portal: tender notices and award notices. The Australian data comes from the AusTender OCDS API of the Department of Finance, which needs no key. Contact names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers are never read. The tool is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of Canada or the Australian Government.

CanadaBuys data is published under the Open Government Licence - Canada, with the attribution "Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence - Canada". Every AusTender API response states CC BY 3.0 AU; attribute it as "Source: AusTender, Department of Finance, licensed under CC BY 3.0 AU". Both allow commercial reuse with attribution, and every row carries source and license for that purpose.
